Character Dining at Topolino’s Terrace in Walt Disney World
Opening in late 2019, Disney’s Riviera Resort is still one of the newer choices at the Walt Disney World Resort. Boasting a European ambiance, this resort also features one of my favorite on-property restaurants-Topolino’s Terrace.

If you didn’t know, Topolino is the Italian translation for Mickey Mouse. As such, he and a few of his closests friends meet at the namesake restaurant each morning to celebrate the fine arts, as well as the most important meal of the day-breakfast! Breakfast hours run from 7:30am-12:15pm.
If you aren’t interested in a character meal, Topolino’s Terrace-Flavors of the Riviera, turns into a signature dining location for dinner. Dinner hours run 5:00-9:30pm.
How to Dine at Topolino’s Terrace
Advanced Dining Reservations
Like any table service restaurant in Walt Disney World, Advanced Dining Reservations are a must.
Character Dining in Disney World
Dining reservations can be made online at www.mydisneyexperience.com or on the Disney World app up to 60 days in advance. It is highly recommended that you log on immediately at 6:00AM EST 60 days prior to your desired dining day to get reservations. At this time there is also the choice to join the walk-up line on the Disney app.
Getting Here
Topolino’s Terrace-Flavors of the Riviera (yes that’s the actual entire name of the restaurant…) is located inside Disney’s Riviera Resort. It is NOT within any of the Disney theme parks, so it is a great place to visit when you don’t have park tickets. While you can always Uber or self-drive, you can also use Disney transportation to get to your reservation.
If you are coming from Epcot, Hollywood Studios or any of the Disney Skyliner resorts, the Skyliner is the fastest and easiest option. Bus transport is also available from the Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom and the other resorts.
Topolino’s Terrace Breakfast Menu
This character meal is a table-service meal (versus a buffet). Each person in the dining party will order their own invididual meal from a menu. The table will also begin with shared pastries as well. While this item is not currently on the online menu, it is still featured on the All Ears website.
You’ll quickly notice that along with the character’s outfits, the dining menu also carries along the fine art theme of the meal. We loved the pastries served in the paint buckets! For our main courses we ordered the following:
- Sour Cream Waffles with roasted apples, chantilly, orange-maple syrup and choice of breakfast meat
- Wood-fired Butchers Steak with Polenta, Pomodoraccio Tomatoes, Roasted Onions, Wild Mushroom Conserva and Watercress
- Two Eggs any Style with roasted potatoes and choice of breakfast meat
- Kid’s Mickey Shaped Waffle Dippers
Kid’s Meals are for children ages 9 and under. They are served with apple juice, milk or water, as well as choice of two sides.
We all loved our meals! Pictured are the Sour Cream Waffle and the Mickey Shaped Waffle Dippers:
In general, I am not a big breakfast fan, but let me tell you, this restaurant is on my short list for our next trip! I can’t wait to visit again for both the ambiance and the meal. These were the best waffles I’ve ever had!
Meeting Characters at Topolino’s Terrace
As I mentioned above, character dining at this restaurant is only available at breakfast. Currently advertised on the website are Mickey Mouse, Minne Mouse, Donald and Daisy Duck. Each character’s outfit represents a different aspect of fine art. When we ate at Topolino’s each character visited us at least twice. As is common at other character dining locations, there is also a moment or two where they dance together as a group. See below to preview the fun costumes you will see during your meal!
