Dining with Disney Princesses- Akershus in Epcot
Continuing my series of Disney dining information, today’s post is all about the Akershus Royal Dining Hall in Epcot. Home to several Princesses and Norwegian fare, this restaurant is a great (and less expensive) alternative to dining in Cinderella’s castle.

What is Akershus Royal Banquet Hall?
The Akershus Royal Banquet Hall is a restaurant located in Epcot in the Walt Disney World Resort. The meal is served family style and is highly influenced by Norwegian flavors. While dining, you will have the opportunity to meet several Disney Princesses.
How to Dine at Akershus
You must have a park ticket to enter this restaurant. Advanced Dining Reservations are highly suggested for all sit down meals in Disney World. You can make these by going online, using the My Disney Experience App or calling 407-939-3463, 60 days prior to your visit.
Reservations are available for breakfast, lunch and dinner daily. Hours and prices are as follows:
- Breakfast 8:30am-12:10pm $59 adults/$38 child (ages 3-9)
- Lunch 12:15pm-4:40pm $69 adults/$46 child
- Dinner 5:25pm-8:05pm $69 adults/$46 child
What to Expect
If you have dined at Akershus pre-2020, things have changed a bit since it’s reopening in 2023. Gone are the days of being greeted by Belle prior to your meal. The parade of Princesses no longer consists of collecting the children from around the restaurant. Instead, Princesses dance in the room for a breif moment before continuing on to visit the next table.
Menu
The menu at Akershus has always had a Norwegian flare. However, since reopening after the 2020 closure, the restaurant has toned down the food quite a bit for American palates.
Breakfast consists of the usual suspects; eggs, pastries, bacon, sausage and potato casserole. They also include Norwegian pancakes.
Lunch and dinner are slightly more adventurous. The current menu is available here. Options include salmon, meatballs, mashed potatoes, mac & cheese, cabbage and an apple-fennel chicken.

Disney Princesses
Upon entering the unimposing building (located near Frozen Ever After in the Norway pavillion), you will walk into a more regal main dining area. Flags hang from the ceiling and half-domed shaped windows and wooden ring chandeliers add to the old-timey feeling.
During the meal, various Disney Princesses will come to your table to interact with you. You can take photos and ask for autographs at this time. Princesses can change at any time. During our visit we met:
- Alice in Wonderland
- Ariel
- Belle
- Snow White
- Cinderella
As I said before, this is a great alternative if you can’t get reservations at Cinderella’s Royal Table (or want to save almost $20 per adult!). An easy way to meet multiple Princesses, this character meal is a fun alternative to the usual chicken fingers and hamburgers available in a theme park.
