What is the Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue?

The Revue is a long standing dinner show (since 1974!) that features a slapstick comedy musical along with a classic BBQ meal, served all-you-care-to-enjoy and family style. It is fun for all ages and even has a parade for the kiddos! Food is served throughout breaks in the show. Near the end your server will hand out the washboards and you will be encouraged to play while the kids are led on a musical parade throughout the theater. Napkin twirling is also highly encouraged!

An old-fashioned washboard with the words, "Hoop-Dee-Doo Revue" in red font at the top. A person is holding it and banging a spoon on it.

The menu at the Revue is pre-fixe and all-you-care-to-enjoy, although plant based options are also available. When you are seated, you will begin your meal with cornbread and butter, salad and coleslaw.

The above portions were given for a table of 7 people to start

Your meal also includes pop, tea, coffee, sangria, beer or wine. The menu says that these items are “unlimited”, however in my experience, it is fairly difficult to get your server to refill your drink. If you know you will want more than one, I would put your order in when your first drink gets delivered.

After drinks and appetizers are served, the show will begin! During the show there will be a break where your main courses are brought to your table. These include:

  • Cowboy Beans
  • Smoked BBQ Pork Ribs
  • Macaroni and Cheese
  • Fried Chicken
  • Mashed Potatoes
A table with several plates of food including: salad, macaroni and cheese, baked beans, fried chicken, mashed potatoes and ribs on the bone. There are red checked cloth napkins on the table as well as a few water glasses.

After you’ve had a chance to tuck in to some truly tasty food, the show will begin once again. Actors may come out into the crowd to ask where you are from and there is a chance to be pulled on stage as well. Once the washboards are passed out, dessert time is around the corner! Spoiler alert: It’s Strawberry Shortcake!

A round yellow cake sits on a red plate. Whipped cream and strawberries sit atop of the cake and around the plate.

Everything you need to know about Hoop-Dee-Doo Reservations

Even if you’re a Disney Dining pro, the reservation process for this dinner show is a bit different from what you are used to. (If you’re starting from scratch, be sure to check out my post on Disney World planning.)

ADR Payments

Unlike most other Advanced Dining Reservations (ADRs) at a Disney property, the Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue requires payment at the time of reservation instead of when you actually dine. If you are using the Disney Dining Plan, two Table Service credits per person will be put on hold from your account.

Seating Categories

Since this is a theater show, there are different levels of seating available for you to reserve.

  • Category 1 seating is $78 per adult and $45 for ages 9 to 2 years old. Seats are on the main floor.
  • Category 2 seating is $74/adult and $41/child. Seats are in the back periphery of the main floor.
  • Category 3 seating is $70/adult and $40/child. Seating is located in the upstairs balcony. NOTE: There is no elevator to the upstairs balcony and it is not wheelchair accessible. If you cannot use stairs you must book Category 1 or 2 seating.

The Disney Dining Plan allows you to choose from Category 2 or 3 seats for two table service credits per person.

Below is a photo taken from a Category 2 seat.

The View from a Category 2 Table

The above photo is one that was taken while I was seated at a Category 2 table. Our table was not well lit like the others on the main floor are (thus the darker food photos above). I have also been seated closer to the stage but off to the side with Category 2 reservations.

In my opinion you are still able to see the actors very well from anywhere on the main floor. I have never been up to the balcony, but can imagine the stage is a bit harder to see from these seats.

What Times can you Reserve the Revue?

The Revue currently plays Wednesday through Sunday evenings. Seating times are 4:00pm, 6:15pm and 8:30pm. The show begins 20 minutes after your seating time. Diners should arrive about 30 minutes ahead of time to check-in. You can also use this time to use the restroom before the show begins since they are located outside of the theater. The show has a 2 hour run time.

How to get to the Hoop-Dee-Doo

The dinner show is located a bit off the beaten path at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground. Be sure to give yourself plenty of time to get to Pioneer Hall at the resort- depending on how you arrive, it may take longer than you think!

Disney Bus

You can take a Disney bus from another Disney Park or from Disney Springs to Fort Wilderness. Once you arrive to the Resort, you will need to take another internal resort bus to Pioneer Hall. If you click on this map of the Resort, you will see just how big the property is. The regular Disney Bus will drop you off near the Triple D Ranch at the Outpost Depot. From there you will get on the internal resort bus to go all the way back to the Settlement Depot which is near Pioneer Hall as well as the boat launch.

Disney Boat

If you are at the Magic Kingdom, you can take a boat back to the Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground. Usually the nearby resorts of Disney’s Wilderness Lodge and Disney’s Contemporary Resort also offer transport to Fort Wilderness. The Fort and the Lodge are two different resorts! The boat launch is right next to Pioneer Hall.

Personal Car/Ride Share

If you are driving yourself or taking a ride share, the parking lot is near the front of the Resort by the Outpost Depot and the Triple D Ranch. You will then need to take the internal resort bus to the Settlement Depot.

Is it worth the cost?

The age-old Disney question of cost and worthiness- is the Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Review worth the hefty price tag? In my opinion it definitely is! You will often pay an equal or higher price to get tickets to a musical performance, but this show includes dinner and drinks!

This is also an excellent activity for a day when you don’t have Park tickets or an arrival day. There are a variety of activities to do while at the Fort even for those not staying there. We have spent time at the Ranch and loved it! (More to come about that soon!)
