Homemade Strawberry Jam
It's strawberry season! We picked pounds of fresh strawberries...and now what? Time to make homemade strawberry jam. This recipe only calls for three ingredients and takes about 20 minutes in total to make. Get ready to enjoy your best peanut butter & jam sandwich ever!
Dice washed and hulled strawberries- enough for about three cups.
Add strawberries to a large saute pan or sauce pot. Add sugar & lemon juice to the pan.
Turn the burner on to medium/low, until all the sugar has dissolved. Then begin to mash strawberries.
Turn the burner up if necessary and bring the mixture to a low boil. Continue to mash berries as needed. *You can also puree them ahead of time if you prefer.
Boil for about 10 minutes, or until the mixture reaches 215 degrees F. You should see foamy bubbles covering most of the pan.
Remove from pan into a glass jar or other heat proof storage solution. Allow to cool to room temperature. Store covered in refrigerator for about 10 days.
