Slow Cooker Applesauce
Peel 9 or so medium apples to make about 2 cups of applesauce. I used a variety of apples including Granny Smith and Gala. You can leave the peel if you choose, but my kids won't eat the applesauce that way! Chop the peeled apples into 1-2 inch chunks and add to slow cooker.
Add lemon juice, water and optional cinnamon over the apple. Cook on high for about 3 hours. The longer you let the apples cook, the easier it will be to mash into a smooth consistency.
After about 3 hours, check the apples. They should now be easily mashed with a potato masher. A food processor would also work (be careful not to get splashed with the hot mixture!) if you want the sauce to be even smoother.
